Finally today, I had some extra time and Sri Lanka Telecom people also giving a 30GB extra usage on their ADSL connection so I downloaded the much awaited LEAKED WINDOWS BLUE 9364.0.FBL_PARTNER_OUT13.130315-2105_X86FRE_CLIENT_EN-US-IMP_CCSand installed it in a 1GB, 20GB, 1024-768 display, Intel chip set, 1 processor configured virtual machine.
And in the desktop Microsoft people put this statement
Unauthorized use or disclosure in any manner may result in disciplinary action up and including termination of employment (in the case of employees), termination of an assignment or contract(in the case of contingent staff), and POTENTIAL CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LIABILITY…
But still there are people who love to leak the stuffs. In my opinion, these types of leakages are healthier, and they give such motivation to geeks. This is the world of open and Microsoft is yet to feel that.
Already there were soooooo many blog posts covering the new apps (Alarm, Recorder, Movie moments), small tile support and more colour selection for themes. But most of the blog posts missed to cover the new PC Settings, Metro FileManager, Camera support on lock screen and some other thing. Here I would like to write about them…
The new PC Settings
The above is the PC settings available in Windows 8, while Win 8 came as consumer preview many people praised this PC setting but this one missed some essential features like setting default app for a known file type and etc.
But Windows BLUE comes with a more featured PC settings app. Every link or command in left pane leads us to its sub commands in Windows BLUE. Another notable thing is, the search box available in PC settings app. That search box lack some functionalists but will be very very useful with messy Windows BLUE settings as it comes with more and more unexpected systems setting options.
Here you can see the sub commands for each commends If we select “Apps” it leads to sub commands like Notifications, App sizes, Search, Share, Defaults and Switching. We can get all the Modern UI apps from the “App sizes” page and if we click on an app, Windows BLUE shows the option to uninstall it.
In “Default” category we can select the default apps for media files.
On this Screen page, under Display, we can change the screen resolution and orientation. But the “Touch Feedback” goes a white screen for laptop. I hope that will function on tablets.
The main changes overs in Lock screen is the support of Lock Screen Camera and Use the lock screen as picture frame.
Since I tested with Hyper V The ‘Picture Frame’ function was not enabled for me and Lock Screen Camera also. But I hope Microsoft to introduce the facial log in in Windows’s next version. Its already available in Samsung Galaxy Android phones and last week I was referring a Nokia developer blog post on Face recognition for Windows Phone 8 for wallet payments. It was using a DSP algorithm and I implemented it with our imagine cup GMON project and was working perfectly For that DSP algorithm we don’t need a server too process the image. I works in seconds for a 500×500 pixel and give very very quick responses I hope Microsoft may use the same algorithm to produce the facial log in system.
This page comes under Privacy settings. Windows BLUE’s got a superb privacy settings for every thing including Location, WebCam and Mic but this “Custom Peripherals” seems like a mystery for me. What are the computer peripherals we need to concern about privacy.. mouse?? touch pen?? or which one.. Still mystery..!! But why can’t it be a Bar-code reader.. may be..
In device settings, Windows BLUE give a separate priority for Radio devices like Bluetooth and Wifi. And the AutoPlay option also available there.
Windows BLUE come with a separate Time & Language page with is not available on Windows 8 and the good news is Microsoft also accepted “Palestine” and a new country.. god bless 🙂
Many blog posts were covering The new Alarm app and Sound recorder app but most of the people never noticed the Converter inside the Calculator app. This is very very powerful, you can see, the above image, this app calculate the Train Engines power…
Movie Moments (the Modern Movie Maker)
This is the Modern UI alternation for the Windows Movie maker software and Windows Phone BLUE also rumered to have the same app. Windows the Current leaked Windows BLUE (Win 8 pro 32 bit (6.3, Build 9364)) this app seems not functioning like Windows Movie maker but some how its working (like a Draft app)
This is how it works
First we need to open the app
And Microsoft’s confidential notice apprears and don’t care about (but NEVER SHARE ANY VIDEOs CREATED BY THIS APP) then click the “Choose a video button”
Select a video there, and click open
This the app screen after selecting a video. Click the (+) button to add caption for the video moments
It seems to support many style and Emphasizing the text on video but they are yet to implement
Then right click on the video to add music like below
Then click the (✓) to process the video. This video automatically saved in My Pictures/Movie Moments
Then finally it gives a preview also
Hidden FileManager app
While I browse through the Windows folder I found this one and was not working. I did some googling and in some blogs they said thats the Modern UI alternation for old File Manager. Refer the following video about to know it. This video is about, how to make the File Manager work
Windows BLUE 64 bit leaked
